Above: 2017 Communion Breakfast
Another school year is drawing to a close – can you believe it?! Thanks to the Loyola community, we had another successful year of fundraising. Through the clothing sales, the Wine & Cheese and other smaller fundraising initiatives, we were able to make a donation of $76,000 to the Bursary Fund during the Communion Breakfast in May. The Communion Breakfast was lovely, as usual, and our guest speaker, Ms. Esperanza Donovan, shared with us the very personal and inspiring journey of her faith. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to her for coming to speak to us.
And now, while everyone else is putting the term behind them and looking forward to enjoying the summer off, the Mothers’ Guild has started its new year and is already hard at work planning next year’s activities. We’d like to remind our Loyola families that:
1) The Mothers’ Guild runs a second-hand store as well as the new clothing store. When you’re going through your sons’ closets, please consider donating any outgrown suits, shirts and gym clothes that are still in good condition to the Guild store. We resell these items at very reasonable prices and 100% of the proceeds go toward the Bursary Fund. You can drop off your donations at the school during office hours.
2) The Guild is always looking for parent volunteers. A sign-up sheet goes out to all families over the summer, so please consider adding your name to the list. Many of our events, as well as those of the Parents' Association, require extra helpers and even just a few hours of your time would be very much appreciated.
Thank you for your generous and ongoing support. We wish you all a wonderful summer!
