The official kick-off to the Christmas season took place on Sunday, November 27th with the 47th Annual Mothers’ Guild Wine & Cheese Fundraiser.
Decorated with Christmas murals, white string lights and festive ornaments, the gymnasium was a sight to behold. In addition to wine and cheese and tables of homemade sweets, guests were also treated to live music from a trio of jazz musicians including Loyola faculty members, Mr. Franco Proietti ’95 and Mr. Matthew O'Neil ‘07.
The popular Balloon Pop, Silent Auction, and Pick-a-Basket were all great fun. Mtre. Gerry Apostolatos and Ms. Nancy Anissimoff, CPA, CA, were the lucky winners of a MacBook Pro, the Raffle Grand Prize!
The Mothers’ Guild is extremely grateful to all the generous sponsors, donors and volunteers for making this event possible. They are also very thankful to all of the members of the Loyola Community who came and played games, bid on silent auction items and bought raffle tickets.
The Guild further wishes to extend their thanks to the CSP students and the Maroon & White - for living up to the Loyola motto "Men for Others", always ready and willing to put their best foot forward, handling every situation with poise and maturity – as well as to the Loyola staff for being present and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.
The mission of the Wine & Cheese is to raise money for the bursary fund. This fund provides financial assistance to deserving students, who otherwise would not be able to attend Loyola, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential and live up to Loyola’s motto “Men for Others.”
