The Robotics team hosted a BetaBots competition in the Loyola gymnasium on December 3rd. BetaBots is a small-scale robotics challenge designed to teach students the fundamentals of robotics. BetaBots is designed as a training exercise for the FIRST Robotics Competition in order to get students comfortable with basic aspects of design, manufacture and assembly. It uses components typically found on FIRST robots in order to familiarize students with these parts.
The objective of the recent competition was to build the tallest freestanding tower using the game pieces provided. Our Northern Knights team - composed of students from Loyola and Sacred Heart - finished second overall and won the Judges' Award (for the team’s unique efforts, performance, or dynamics). Congratulations Northern Knights!
